| Our goal as a Mac user group is to bring people together of all ages and backgrounds with the common interest of working with and having fun with their Macs. Together we can unite our resources to enrich our Apple community here on the Big Island.
We live on an island with many talented and knowledgeable people. Together we can share what we have learned. We meet at the Keaau Youth Business Center in Keaau Town Center every 3rd Thursday at 5:30 pm. In our meeting and through this group we hope to enrich and nurture Mac users and people interested in Macs by:
We are interested in what the Mac community on the Big Island needs and wants to know. |

Dawn Hurwitz:Group Ambassador |
Dawn started the Hawaii Mac Nuts by default. No one else was interested in picking up the ball that was dropped by the Puna Mac Nuts in the 90s. The first meeting was in November of 2003 with 7 people in attendance and it was decided to give the group a wider appeal by re-naming it to Hawaii Mac Nuts. Today the mailing list nears 200, and continues to grow. The team effort by those involved is just terrific. Dawn started her career in Macs by having an internet cafe in Pahoa, where she had to learn to service her Macintosh computers, as there was no service available. She now has a business called "Mac Assistance" and travels to homes and businesses over east Hawaii to help folks set-up, upgrade, troubleshoot, and learn all things about Macintosh. |
Lee McIntosh:Webmaster |
I've used Macs since 1998, and prefer them to PCs. I use my Mac for everything from digitizing my cartoons to making DVDs for my church. I run several web sites, some of which are Cartoonist for Christ and the PC Card FAQ. I'm pretty knowldgeable about computers, so feel free to ask me any questions that you might have. Also, if you have any suggestions for this site, then please let me know... |
